Jay and Michael talk about stick and rudder setups for 3 channel aircraft. Michael gets a chance to talk with the guys at the park about how they actually set up three channel aircraft for training others to use the rudder. Michael talks about aerodynamics and P-factor and how that effects the flight characteristics of the aircraft.

Very controversial discussion of best way to teach a new person to fly a three channel model. Placing the turn capability on the rudder stick with none or just slight mix turn capability on aileron stick has it’s merits as you guys discussed but comes into conflict with the typical BOX plane for beginners because the turning will be done on the aileron stick on a three channel model.
With that said I do plan to set up one of my home made three channel Quick Sticks with rudder mixed lightly (say 15%) to aileron just to see how it feels and maybe even put some of the guys on buddy box to see what they think. Maybe even simulator would be good.
Field volume was low making it difficult to follow along. Possible to boost for future podcasts? Jay’s voice had significant hum most of the time while Michael’s was perfect. This has not occurred in but one other Pcast.
